Sharissa Dawes had a good voice, good songs, But Lack of promotion is what stopped this CD from selling She gave us those mas dissing "I can't take no more" songs which seemed to be the entire basis of the CD with songs like "Any other night", "Do We Really", "dun put up too long" "All these years" and the song that got axed from the album she perfomed live on the Appolo "see if I don't"/5(23).

On No Half Steppin' Sharissa struts all over traditional R&B territory with both sass and class; on the title track, her manifesto, she makes it clear that she doesn't take no mess, especially from spineless suitors. The CD continues with more declarations of independent womanhood and indictments of trifling men, intoned in Sharissa's warm alto /5(22).
